SQL LOADER ADDING SPACES BETWEEN CHARACTERS

Hi,

I'm using Sql Loader to insert records from a csv file (produced by sql server) and every field (varchar2 in the table) has spaces between each character, i.e.
'80546249' becomes '8 0 5 4 6 2 4 9' or in rawtohex() = 0038003000350034003600320034003900.

Anybody have any idea why this is happening?
