SQL history lost after upgrade

739654Dec 8 2009 — edited Dec 10 2009
I upgraded yesterday from build 2.1.0.63.10 to build 2.1.0.63.41. I answered "yes" when it asked me if I wanted to import all my previous settings (can't remember the exact wording that it uses). Everyting appeared to go well. I used the newer version yesterday with no problems, all sql history was there yesterday just as it was in the previous version. Last night I rebooted my machine, as I do every evening. However when I started up the newer version today, I immediately noticed all my sql history is missing. All my preferences have been imported correctly and are still in force in the new version - it seems just my sql history has gone.

I started up the previous version (2.1.0.63.10) but all my histroy is missing from there too.

After some investigation on these forums, I gather the sql history is kept in file "sqlhistory.xml" in the Windows Application Data folder. I checked that file but unfortunately it contains no history befiore today.

Does anybody know why my history has been apparently wiped out after I upgraded? Is there any way I can recover my history? This is very important to me. Thanks.

I'm on Win XP sp3.
