SQL Developer Install on Ubuntu: RPM/Alien or "Other Platforms"

Yes I've installed SQL Developer both ways but with a new delivery perhaps once a calendar quarter, I don't remember the "easiness" factor of one approach over the other.

Which is the easiest way to get SQL Developer on Ubuntu - or how do you do it?
