Why do Oracle break their own products ?
Trying to install SQL Developer (linux rpm) on Oracle 8. It is an rpm package, which is supposed to install the pre-requisites. SQL Developer does not do this. It says I should download the appropriate version of Java. Other Oracle documents that go through this process showing how to download Java 8 which is a complete waste of time because SQL Developer requires V11. I understand the licencing of java changed, but do Oracle know what their own pre-requirements are ?
Ranting over does anyone know how to install SqL developer on Oracle 8, or would it be easier to download VS Code and run it from there ?
