SQL Developer hangs on cancelling query (or any action)

Hi --

Whenever I try to cancel a long-running query in SQL Developer it hangs and is completely unresponsive. The only way to recover is to kill the process and restart. This seems to be the case with cancelling any process in SQL Developer.

I'm currently using 4.1.3 on a Mac, but this has been happening for years.

Is there some way to make this button work properly?
