SQL Command Line/telnet

514236May 23 2006 — edited May 23 2006
It seems that when I run the SQL Command Line, Oracle XE invokes Windows telnet program. I'd like to use another interface, primarily so that I can copy and paste, etc. Is there a way to change what Oracle XE invokes OR how can I log into my own machine using another program?

I've tried using SSH Secure Shell using host 127.0.0.1:8080. Without <:8080> the host is unreachable and with it the host is unknown. I don't mind downloading a simpler, less secure telnet client if that would simplify matters.

Thanks very much for any advice,
Jeanne

PS: Not trying to disguise my identity. I tried changing my username but the system told me I hadn't filled in all required fields which I had. Oh, well.
