Splunk for monitoring EPM log files

I am doing some research on using splunk to monitor EPM log files from the RDBMS, WebLogic, Essbase and the applications. Has anyone experimented with this before?

If so what were the benefits and the issues they ran into. I am hearing that there are some performance issues aound loading the logs that manifest itself in the EPM applications

Any help would be greatly appreciated
