Split Brain in RAC

Hi ALL,

I am new to RAC, I am just reading the RAC concepts & Architecture. I got little idea about GRD, Cache Fusion Etc, But still not sure about Split Brain.
Kindly anyone tell me,

1, what is split Brain?
2, why & when will happen?
what is the solutions for split brain??
