Sparc vs X86 Compatibility

I installed Solaris 10 to an x86 machine
I am trying to run some Solaris binaries (probably Solaris Sparc)
it gives an error
"invalid argument"

question is:
Does not Solaris have binary compatibility? Can't a Sparc binary run on an X86?

I am totally confused
