SP2-614 Error after upgrade to 10.2.0.5

We are on WIN2K3 server and we just upgraded to 10.2.0.5 When we attempt to connect from our xp client that is at 10.1.0.5 we get the following error : "SP2-614 server version too low for this feature"

Sp2-614 is talking about Xquery and as far as I know we are not using that feature and we are just trying to connect via sqlplus so not sure why it is complaining about xquery.

Any pointers or advice would be appreaciated. Do we need to upgrade our clients to 10.2?
