SourcePlanType-EPMA 11.1.2.1

What is an Source plan type.
What is it importance?
I have balance sheet in one plan type(plantype1) and income statements in another plan type(Plantype2).
when i validated the application i get the error Member 'balancesheet' in dimension 'Account' failed validation 'SourcePlanTypeVal-Batch' for the following reason(s): The SourcePlanType value is not valid for the member.

Please help me what is this Source plantype?,why do i have to add a field for sourceplantype in .ads file for the account dimension.
i went through the epma_admin guide but i didnt not understand what it was trying to say.........
