[SOLVED] FormsReportService returns FRM-40900 error

239338Jul 10 2007 — edited Aug 7 2007
The problem was actaully created by changing DOMAINS for the server runnig FRS. An unistall and re-install of FRS solved the problem.

=========================================================

After upgrading to Oracle 10.2.0.1 EE DB from Oracle 9i DB I receive the Forms message "FRM-40900: Unable to allocate record buffer. Clear form to continue" when I perform an execute-query on any block with more than 50 rows.

This dialog box has an OK button. When I press it I receive the Error "FRM-40735: ON-ERROR trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-06502". Upon pressing OK to that dialog box I receive the message "Query caused no records to be retrieved."

I first thought this wa a DB issue since it does not happen on a XE DB with the same data from the same app server. I raised the flag in the DB and Forms forum but thus far no one was able to answer why since XE and EE db's are not the same this error would happen. One person suggested I post on this forum.

I checked all DB logs and cannot find any hint of why this is happening. Also I have tried this on multiple workstations with the same results.

When I debug the form in Forms builder I do not get this error when I connect to either the XE db or the EE db. I suspect that it is because I am using the local OC4J and not the app server to debug.

I'm begining to suspect this has to do with permissions on some directory on my W2K FormsReportService apps server.

Does anyone have any ideas?

TIA for any help you can provide,
Ed.
