Solaris tmpfs uses real memory ?

Hi Experts,

Solaris tmpfs uses real memory or swap space or combination of both? When /tmp was full system's physical memory fully consumed but Swap space was untouched.

Could you please explain shen system uses the swap space? or how can I allocate swap space for tmpfs
