Solaris Oracle 11 release 5.11 ide ata errors after ungraceful shutdown

4037035Jul 4 2019 — edited May 2 2020

Hi all,

We have a hyper-v vm with sunos 5.11 version 11.0 on it.

Since a few days this vm froze and I had to turn it off. Now the Oracle vm won't boot anymore.

Getting all these messages unable to write cache, error for command "read sector" error level: informational

sense key; aborted command

vendor 'gen-ATA' error code 0x3

I tried to google this error and all I could find is this link

https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19253-01/820-7273/ggmsj/index.html

I tried to work around 4 in the GRUB menu but I just get the same error messages.

The system keeps spitting these messages and ends up rebooting itself.

Does anyone know how to solve this?
