Solaris Express DE 09/07 does not detect my existing partitions

807559Oct 4 2007 — edited Oct 14 2007
Hi all,

I received my Solaris Express DE 09/07 DVD the other day, deleted the play partition on my disk, leaving /dev/hda3 and /dev/hda4 as my existing and in use Linux partitions, and booted up the Solaris install.

The new GUI installer starts fine, but it fails to detect the existing partitions. The disk selection page lists the one 149GB disk, as having 4 undefined partitions, of zero size.

Can I pre-create the partition that I want the new installer to use, or is there some otherway round this?

HW wise - IBM Thinkpad t42p with an Seagate Momentus 5400.3 ST9160821A 160 GB disk

Cheers

Sven
