Solaris 9 x86 ISO burns

807559Dec 31 2003 — edited Jan 22 2004
I successfully downloaded all 7 ISO zips and uncompressed them without
errors. 5 of the images were burnt onto CDs with no issues.

I'm using a Sony DRU510A DVD/CD burner with Veritas RecordNow DX v4.60
software. The system hardware is an IBM P-III 800 w/ 256MB RAM, 30GB HDD
w/ 20GB free. The OS is Windows 98. I've updated the drive firmware to
the latest version -> 1.0d. RecordNow PX Engine has been upgraded to the
latest version -> 1.6.14.507.

The images I've consistently had problems with are "Solaris 9 x86
Installation CD Image, Multi-language (sol-9-u5-install-x86.zip, 377.51
MB)" and "Solaris 9 x86 Software 1 of 2 CD Image, Multi-language (sol-9-u5-
x86-v1.zip, 269.41 MB)". I've downloaded those files successfully twice
and uncompressed them without errors. I executed the "test" option in
WinZip to see if there was a problem in either of the zip files, no errors
indicated. The "disk size" indicated by RecordNow on the "Install" disk is
approximately 75MB (a far cry from the 377+ MB indicated by the file
size!). It writes between 6MB and 70MB of the 75MB before it aborts.
The "Software 1" disk doesn't get far enough in the process to indicate
disk size before it aborts.

Please let me know if there's any other info I can provide for help in
resolving my issue.

Thanks!
Brad
