Solaris 9 EA works on VMWare 3.2

FYI,

You can install Solaris 9 EA into a virtual machine and it will work. You can boot directly from the iso image to install. I took the XFree86 Driver Porting Kit 4.2.0 and rebuilt the packages to add the vmware driver. If anyone is interested in the packages I can make them available.

I use Solaris on my laptop when I'm away from work so I can continue to various testing, etc. While I'm at work I run Linux and our corporate 2000 desktop inside a virtual machine.

It's extremely helpful to be able to run Solaris when you manage hundreds of Sun servers and you don't always have a Sun Workstation nearby.
