Solaris 11 hardware for NEW Desktop build?

Alex-3771Sep 26 2016 — edited Oct 14 2016

Hello,

I use to use Solaris 7/8/9 x86 and Sparc versions on Sun Computers and Home build x86 PC's.

Back in 1999 I had a custom built PC with Dual Xeons and Intel Motherboard running Solaris 7

I have not used Solaris since 2001.

I am currently using an MS-Windows / Apple Mac OS-X home computer and network environment.

I understand Sun/Oracle is no longer building desktop computers.

I would like to build an Oracle Solaris-11 desktop computer.

I would like some recommendations as to what hardware is supported.

I prefer Intel CPU and Nvidia graphics cards.

There is not much information as to what hardware is supported in the Oracle docs.

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris11/documentation/solaris11-3-sys-reqs-2489267.pdf

What Intel CPU's are supported? Intel Core-i3/i5/i7 / Xeons / Dual Xeons ?

What Graphics cards are supported ? Intel GPU / Nvidia ? / AMD ?

In older versions of Solaris 7/8/9 x86 I use to have to use ATI-98 agp graphics cards.

How much ram is supported ?

Are SSD's Supported ? TRIM support ? NVRAM ?

What printers work best with Solaris? I know that Sun Microsystems use to use Lexmark Network printers. I have HP and Epson printers.

Is Wifi and Home networking supported in Solaris-11? If so What Wifi cards work best.

I am looking for hardware that will work Vanilla / Plug and play with Solaris-11

Thanks for your input.
