Solaris 10 root access

807557May 12 2008 — edited May 13 2008
I have a Solaris 10 x86 vmware ESX installation in a DMZ running 4 zones. Everything is working fine. However I cannot su - root via ssh login.
I can login to console as root OK but this is not always convenient with the VM. The preferred connection is via SSH.
This is where the problem is. I can login using any created user account that has been granted SSH access. However when you try to su- root, it displays message - "su: Sorry" and takes you back to command prompt. I have modified ssh_config as per other forum articles but it still doesn't allow su - root
Any suggestions would be apprecciated.
