Solaris 10 pcnfs - Installation - Map Unix share on Windows machine

915164Feb 3 2012 — edited Feb 6 2012
I am having an issue installing pcfns on a Solaris 10 box.

I would like to be able to map a share from a unix box to a Windows machine. I have one machine where it currently works and one which I am trying to get to work

I copied the the content of /opt/SUNWpcnfs to /opt/SUNWpcnfs fron the working machine to the non working machine and

ran /opt/SUNWpcnfs/sbin/rpc.pcnfsd

now when I look at the processes it shows that pcnfsd seems to be running.

ps -ef | grep
root 16978 24882 0 14:27:44 pts/3 0:00 grep pcnfsd
root 20487 1 0 07:46:00 ? 0:00 /opt/SUNWpcnfs/sbin/rpc.pcnfsd

And although I have edited the hosts file and the /ect/dfs/dfstab and run the shareall command I am still not able to map a drive from a Windows machine to these shares.

I am not a unix dbs and I amstruggling with this.

does anyone have and idea on whats going wrong.

This wasnt installed using the pakgadd command, and if it has to be done this way does anyone know where I can get the installation files and how it should be done. Thanks in advance.
