Solaris 10 getent paswd and ldap

As per earlier post, I just reinstalled a Sparc machine with the latest Solaris 10 release. It is configured as an ldap client of its self.

Solaris 10 10/09 s10s_u8wos_08a SPARC

"getent passwd" only returns local accounts, not ldap ones.
"getent passwd someldapuser" or "id someldapuser" does work- so this does not seem to be a critical problem.

I have several ldap servers and client so this seems to be specific to the latest Solaris 10 release. All my other solaris 10 servers have earlier releases.

Is there a fix?
