Software support for HP DL380 G5
Dude!Jun 30 2008 — edited Aug 17 2008Hello,
Due to lack of support of recent versions of OMS 10g running on Alpha Tru64 Unix, I decided to give Oracle on Linux a try. At least Oracle on Metalink thought it was a good idea.
I downloaded Oracle Enterprise Linux version 4.6 from linux.oracle.com and installed in on a brand new HP DL 380 G5 with 4 GB RAM and SAS disks.
Problem 1)
The computer was frequently reseting itself every several hours without giving any clue. After trying a few things I ended up disabling ASR (Automated Server Recovery) in the System Bios, and the machine has been up for the last several days since. Is this a known problem. Any fix available?
Problem 2)
The Linux kernel reports 2.6.9-67.0.0.0.1.ELsmp. HP software support pack requires 2.6.9-67.ELsmp and it does not install. How can I install the vendor specific drivers?
Problem 3)
Oracle's up2date does not work for me. I have put in my Metalink ID but it rejects.
Thanks for any answer,
Best regards,
Markus
