Application Development Software

Hi ,

I have taken a quick glance through the docs but have not found a step by step guide on what it takes to enable our users from off site to send mail using smtp authentication. Can anyone give me a quick overview of whats entailed and if its simple or not? We use:

Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-7.05 (built Sep 5 2006)

and have 2 front end mtas (also sun messenging 6.2) that sit outside the firewall and our main server (see version above).

Any comments on what this process requires would be very helpful.
