Smartview Corruption of Excel Files

873345Feb 13 2012 — edited Mar 6 2012
Our users have been experiencing some problems with Excel files that use HsGet values to retrieve HFM data. For a lot of files they will get tot the point where they will take much, much longer to refresh than usual or they will lock up Excel when you open the file. Users rebuild the file fine but will eventually experience the same issue again. It is like Smartview is corrupting the Excel file. I took an Excel file that was locking on open and was able to open it by disabling all Smartview add-ins. I removed all HsGetValue formulas and all tabs except one that has some text on it (made sure there were no hidden worksheets). I saved it, closed it, closed Excel, reopened Excel, re-enabled the add-ins and tried to open the file. It locked the same as it did before which makes me thing it is a corruption issue. The problems seems to happend accross OS (Windows 7, XP, 32-bit, 64-bit) and accross Excel version (2007 and 2010). Saving as a prior version or reinstalling SV does not seem to fix the issue either. Has anyone else had any issues simmilar to mine?
