Smart View Excel Add-In Error Message

981310Feb 28 2013 — edited Mar 4 2013
A client was trying to run Smart View and it crashed. Their screen then displayed the following Excel message/question:

"Excel experienced a serious problem with the 'oracle hyperion smart view for office, fusion edition' add-in. If you have seen this message multiple times, you should disable this add-in and check to see if an update is available. Do you want to disable this add-in?" (Yes/No)

The client did NOT disable, but instead logged out of Smart View and then logged back in. When they did this, they were kicked out of Smart View after a couple of minutes, and then had to log back in again.

Is there a solution for this issue? Do they actually need to disable the add-in, then add Smart View back? Please list out the exact steps to resolve this issue.

Thanks.
