Small doubt about ODAC

learner1Dec 8 2015 — edited Dec 9 2015

Hi,

Here goes my config details

Win server 2012 R2

Oracle : Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0 - 64bit Production

    PL/SQL Release 12.1.0.2.0 - Production

    CORE 12.1.0.2.0 Production

TNS for 64-bit Windows: Version 12.1.0.2.0 - Production

    NLSRTL Version 12.1.0.2.0 - Production

I got a requirement from my developer that he intends to run some powershell script on Server which connects to Oracle database & he requested me to install ODAC on Server.

I downloaded the same from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/windows/downloads/index-090165.html and installed the one that says "64-bit ODAC 12c Release 4 (12.1.0.2.4) for Windows x64".

At the end of installation, it greeted me with a message that i need to run sqlscript.

Refer to attached screenshot.

I have 2 small questions :

a) Which script should i be executing, there are couple of them in ODAC installation directory i.e. F:\app\odac\product\12.1.0\client_1\ASP.NET\SQL

b) Should i be executing via sys account or via new Windows account that was created as part of ODAC installation ? I am assuming it has to be via sys, but would like to reconfirm.
