Slow windows xp startup

I have downloaded oracle 10g and installed on windows XP (SP2). There was no problem in the installation. However after installation windows xp takes about 10-15 minutes to start. Sometimes the desktop icons appear but it takes about 10 minutes before i can use any other program. After this everything is normal and i can connect with the database.

I uninstalled the oracle and the windows xp worked smoothly. System is P-4 with 512 MB RAM. Again after installation the same problem exists.
