Slow Startup, 'Restoring Windows'

user647231Apr 24 2017 — edited Jul 3 2017

I'm having the same problem. Slow startup.  When it gets to Restoring Windows, it takes a long time to come up.

I've tried everything that I've been able to research on this. (e.g. deleting roaming files, sql history, removing features, add connections while installing, exporting and importing connections, etc, etc)

I was trying to solve it on 4.1.5 and then today (4/24/17) I discovered that 4.2.0 is out so I took that for a drive and same thing.

I have windows 7.

I have 40 connections

If I run 4.0.0.0.13 - takes 3 seconds to Restore windows

4.1.5 and 4.2.0 takes 57 seconds to Restore windows.

If I reduce to 17 connections, takes 23 seconds to Restore windows.

I just wanted to give you info although I've already spent way too much time trying to upgrade so I'm going to stick with 4.0 and maybe check back in a few months.

If you have any questions, I'll try to answer but I apologize for not assisting if you want me to run things as I'm now strapped for time.

Thanks for trying to figure it out.
