Oracle Public YUM seems to become slower and slower and has reached a point where I find it annoying to use. Sometimes it takes almost 30 minutes to refresh the cache.
I think what contributes to the issue are the large amount of patches contained in the _latest channel. I'm not sure if the included source packages have a negative affect, but the amount of files certainly freeze a web browser resulting in a time out, which makes browsing the yum directory impossible.
Would it not make sense to start separating packages and create additional YUM channels to split the workload?
