Size of executable

One more mind twister for me.

I made an executable of size 2.5 MB.
When i linked it with a .so of mine then its size decreased to 2.2 MB.
Further on linking with 2 it reduced to 2 MB
With 3 to 1.6 MB.

Is it possible somehow?
