Single Tenant vs. Non-CDB in 18c

Hi,

We are looking into migrating an existing 11.2.0.4 standard edition database to 18.x.0.0. Mostly because we are migrating to new hardware and the 11.2.0.4 extended support ends at the end of the year.

The non-CDB architecture in 18c is deprecated but still supported. We could technically move to a single tenant installation with standard edition.

Are there any benefits of moving to CDB right away? Starting with 18c non-CDB short term seems like a more fluent transition.
