Java Card

Hi all,
could someone please point me to a tutorial or give me a brief sequence of instructions on how to install sim card applets in Linux without using proprietary windows software?

Also (this is a separate question), does anyone know how to terminate a call from a sim applet (assuming that your applet initiated the call). Would forcing the applet to exit also terminate a call that was initiated by it?
