Silent client install fails

I have tried to install the oracle xe client silently useing the files avaible on the oracle website:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/xe/htdocs/102xewinsoft.html but that does not work
The server installation works fine, but the client always returns returncode=-3
I have tried to run the client installation with -r and use the generated setup.iss file but that does not work either.
I have read about installations that have inivisible features that need to be handled in the .iss file, but oracle must have tested the files they put on the net?
Any ideas?
