Siebel 8.1 Zero Downtime Upgrade Success Story
Hi All,
Just wanted to pass along some valuable information about a Siebel 8.1 upgrade we just took live. This upgrade faced a number of challenges yet was completed in a remarkable 6 months from dev upgrade to production go live. This upgrade stands out as one the best projects I have ever been a part of.
Some of the challenges we faced included:
• Highly customized application.
• 100K+ lines of eScrpt code to migrate to new ST engine.
• Huge database that required extensive tuning of the upgrade scripts.
• Zero downtime upgrade that required eim delta data to be migrated from 7.7 to 8.1 after the users moved from 7.7 to 8.1.
• Large number of users (approximately 2,500).
