Side navigation menu does not collapse in normal user mode in APEX 24.2 after extending the width using Theme Roller

Hi,

I am using APEX 24.2.15. I needed to extend the width of the side navigation menu therefore I used Theme Roller (Customize). It was using Vita theme and I just changed value for Layout → Navigation Tree to 310 px and saved the modified theme with a new name: Vita (menu extins)

After this the following strange behavior occurs:

If application is executed from Developer mode, the side navigation menu works OK when I click X on the left upper corner which is displayed instead of the hamburger menu, meaning that is hidden (collapse) and the page is expanded and all the page items are OK after rendering them (usable page surface in full screen mode gets another +300 pixels width).

But when application is accessed in normal user mode (not started from Developer), when I click X (hamburger) to hide the menu, the page is extended but the menu is displayed over the page (so some items on the left side of the page are not visible being “behind” the menu). In this case the labels (text) of the menus are not displayed but only the icons. So I end up with a 310 px black (dark gray) menu showing only icons (centered) that is displayed on top of the page.

In Shared Components → User Interface Attributes → Navigation Menu for Side Navigation Menu I tried for Template Options:

  • Use Template Defaults - both checked and unchecked
  • Collapse Mode: Hidden (but I even tried icon as it was acceptable if only a small menu of a few pixels would stay but showing only the icons
  • Style: tried Classic, Style A, Style B

It looks to me like a bug. If someone from APEX product development can check/confirm would be very helpful.

I tested this on Edge and Chrome.

Any ideas, suggestions?

Thank you
