Shutdown remote database using shell script

716880Aug 12 2009 — edited Aug 15 2009
Dear all,

I have requirement of shutting down a remote database via a shell script. I will not know SYS password and hence can't connect directly.
I will need to SSH to remote database set ORACLE_SID and then shutdown the database.

Please note i want to achieve this without calling any another SQL or shell script once i ssh.

Any pointers or help is highly appreciated.

Regards,
Nagendra Chillale
