SHRINKING the tablespace

hi all,

i have a Oracle9i database of 500GB. I have dropped some table which is of 100GB. But the size of the database didnt shrink as expected.
Does Oracle9i have tendency to revoke the allocated space from a tablespace?

can anybody help me to shrink my database size?
