shrept.lst file in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin

What is this file? How did it get there? And what is its significance?

I have googled for it and searched on Oracle Support, but did not find any useful information.

Oracle Support mentions what to do if the file is missing, but strangely has no information on what the file is and what is it used for!
