Should Indexes and Tables be in Separate tablespaces
I have been asked a query and would like a definitive answer if possible.
When creating an Oracle DB, do the indexes and Table data have to be in separate tablespaces?
From what I have read, performance is not improved if they are in different tbsp unless possibly if they sit on different disks and that the only benefit these days may be management of data. Is this the case?
What is the position of Oracle on this matter?
Any help would be appreciated.
