"It is unlikely that just having OCA or OCP will allow you to get into a job these days. Most employers look for this along with experience.As with all certifications, it is possible to cram for the exams, pass them and actually know nothing about using the products two weeks later. This is why certifications have such a bad reputation these days. Using the certification to learn about the product is fine, but it won't guarantee you work. Each company has a different opinion on the value of certification."

My query

Ive already completed my OCA and currently studying for OCP certification. Before taking this course I did think long and hard about the future prospects by doing this certification and on those fatcs I went ahead. Now it has made me think otherwise.

I dont come from a technical background and so this a big step for me. I know experience is essential but everyone starts form somewhere, but the question is, if all employers see experience over certifications then where do people like me go about finding jobs.

Should i really bother doing OCP, if the chances of getting any experience is minimum?

Please advice.
