Shortcuts inside Report Heading defined as PL/SQL Function body

Hi,
I am on Apex 18.2.0.00.12.
I have a function returning the heading of a report and since it breaks when the result exceeds 4000 characters, I tried using shortcuts containing HTML text but it seems they are not replaced (I am using a shortcut syntax like "SHR0", "SHR1" and so on).
Can someone confirm that shortcuts are ignored inside headings built using custom PL/SQL?
