shm files in Apache logs directory

Hi

I've some shm.sem shm.mem files owned by root. (It's normal, we are in ssl context). The question is, why these files and how to prevent it ? . Is there some parameters somewhere ?

-rw------- 1 root dba 13148160 Jul 29 08:43 dms_metrics.622750.shm.mem

Server: AIX 5.3, OAS 10.1.2
