New to Java

Shift to JavaWorld!

I have worked in dotnet platform for 1 year. I have also worked in java for 5 months before this. I felt a fear of big jump in technology by microsoft as it has done in the past. I want to shift to java. But i want some arguments that let me happily make this decision. Can any one tell me that java is better than dotnet.
