Shared Schemas in DB during EUS Configuration

Use Case : EUS Configuration for Oracle DB with OUD Proxy connecting to AD

Database version : Oracle 11g

OUD :11.1.2.3

AD : AD 2008 Windows Server R2

Why do we need to create “shared schemas” in each of the databases? What are they for?
