SHARED_POOL_SIZE and SGA_MAX_SIZE question.

We have Oracle 10.2.0.1.0

SGA_MAX_SIZE = 1500MB
SHARED_POOL_SIZE= 300MB

Question:

1) Is the 300MB for shared pool size allocated from the 1500MB of sga_max_size ? or is it in addition to the 1500MB + 300MB = 1800MB ?
