Do you have an idea for new functionality that is missing or an enhancement for something that already exists? We’d love to hear from you! Oracle Energy and Water products improve with community engagement and feedback, and we want to make it even easier for you to contribute directly to direction of our products. We can’t promise to make all your ideas come true, but we do promise to read every single idea that is submitted and carefully consider every serious submission.
What are some tips for submitting an idea?
Ideas that are clearly presented and easy to understand are far more likely to be implemented. Help us understand your idea by following these tips:
- Provide as many details as possible
- Explain the business goal and use cases where this idea is useful
- Never include personal information or data
Note: Bug reports and general help questions are not considered ideas.
What is the process once an idea is submitted?
The Product Management team will review the idea for clarity, verify the functionality doesn't exist, and verify it is not a duplicate of an idea that has already been submitted. The idea is then open for voting and community discussion. Our Product Management team will routinely monitor idea submissions and comments. When there is community interest in an idea, we will set the status to In Review. Next, the Product Management team will carefully review the idea to make a determination of whether it is something that should be on the product roadmap. At that point, the status will move to Accepted and the idea will be incorporated in a future release.
If your idea is marked as Duplicate, Closed, or Rejected, don’t get discouraged. Just remember, what you may think is simple may turn out to be a lot more complex to implement or we may already have something else in the works to fill your need.
