SGA maximum size on 32bit OS

Hello,
I will like to know what can be the maximum size of SGA with Oracle 9i running Linux 32bit platform.
After changing all the kernel parameters possible (kernel.shmall, kernel.shmmni, ...) my own is still limited to 1600 MB while my server is having 12GB of Ram

my system config
Linux srv-prod 2.6.5-7.244-bigsmp #1 SMP Mon Dec 12 18:32:25 UTC 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Any real solution to go beyond this value
