Setting up Work force Planning

Hi

We have a requirement to set up a workforce planning which is a day 2 requirement.

1.Can we create a normal Planning application and then convert it to a workforce planning? If yes, how?
2. Do we have to create a seperate Plan type with workforce planning selected at the time of creating the application, to implement workforce planning?
3. Prereqquisites for workforce planning?
