Session Bean vs Entity Bean?

1978500Jun 18 2014 — edited Jun 19 2014

We have a contractor who joined us recently. He's our ADF expert. We don't know much about ADF. He said for the data model layer in ADF, he must choose between entity beans and session beans. I am mostly ignorant of these things and their implications. I just know entity objects and view objects for DB access. Can someone give me an idea of what these are about? Why not just create entity objects and some view and link objects like I always see in the tutorials? I'd ask him, but I'm wanting to verify what he's saying from a 3rd-party because it seems he may be misleading us.
