server heavy slow performance while running with RMAN

2684285Mar 5 2015 — edited Mar 18 2015

Dear all,

I am working in one instance called awsprocess and it is running under by RMAN configuration, every month date of 5th to 10th we have auditing process, at this time we are highly facing performance slow.

I have configured RMAN and cumulative level 0 and level 1 backup is also going on, Because of server slow performance development team people are asking me to change something as dba level to improve speed of server performance. While running RMAN archive also running, so that i need tuning my database.

My database size is 500 Gb and at this every audit time millions of simultaneous DML and DLL will happen.

My questions are below,

1)Is there any performance degradation to database while db running with archivelog enabled.

2)If performance slow will come then because of archievelog enabled then how can i resolve this issue.

3) I have 1 Tb size of HDD only for this RMAN Process, so that how can manage backup set size and archielog size, Bcz this archivelog file is highly increasing, How can i manage this archielog file also

4)If you have any other best idea to avoid server slow performance while running db under RMAN, Kindly share with me

Herewith i have attached pfile for more info when instance created with default parameter size.

Please help me get rid out from this issue. Thanks in advance
